Constructed in 1992, the Vacaville Performing Arts Theatre seats 500 and is beautifully designed with superior acoustics. The venue is intimate enough for the audience to actually feel as though they are part of the performance. The theatre is host to numerous community cultural events and has become a favorite venue for many performers. Performances held within the theatre include local school drama clubs, orchestras, bands, dance companies and choral groups. Vacaville Performing Arts Theatre hosts over an impressive 150 events a year with previous performances by The San Francisco Comedy Competition, Solano Community Symphony, Vacaville Ballet Theatre Company, Vacaville Concert Society, Solano Choral Society, the studio of Just Gotta Dance and Patty’s Studio of Dance and Ballet Arts.
For outdoor enthusiasts the Lagoon Valley Park is a perfect place for local residents to get away and be one with nature. The park is outfitted with a historic Pena Adobe home as well as barbecue areas, horseshoe pits, a multi-purpose field, bike trails, a small pond, excellent hiking, Lagoon Valley Lake for fishing and a myriad of others. Others who are seeking fine dining, arts and entertainment, Downtown Vacaville is the perfect place to be where seasonal farmer’s markets are held alongside free concerts and other outdoor entertainment. The new community-built playground and Senior Center are also just a short distance away. The new Town Square project includes the recently opened downtown library building and a public plaza.
